While Google touted the phone's durability, a recent test by YouTuber Zack Nelson, known for his channel JerryRigEverything, exposed some shocking flaws that have tech enthusiasts buzzing.

For over a decade, Nelson has become the go-to source for rigorous smartphone testing, putting devices through a gauntlet of challenges. He scratches screens, exposes them to extreme heat, and even bends them to assess their durability. In his latest video featuring the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, he witnessed a catastrophic failure—this phone not only faltered under pressure but also became the first device to ignite during his bend test!

As he began to test the Pixel, bending it while fully unfolded, the device broke around its antenna line, a critical spot where previous Pixel models had also suffered failures. Nelson didn’t hold back in his criticism. “Having the audacity to call the Pixel 10 Fold extremely durable while keeping the same flawed antenna line locations from past versions is an insult to tech enthusiasts everywhere,” he lamented.

But the real drama unfolded when Nelson attempted a second bend in the opposite direction. This time, the Pixel’s battery couldn’t handle the stress and exploded, releasing a plume of smoke that activated a nearby fire alarm. In Nelson's experience, no smartphone had ever erupted like this during his durability tests.

“In the decade that I've been durability testing phones, I have never had a smartphone explode before,” Nelson shared, highlighting just how unprecedented this incident was.

While most users are unlikely to push their devices to such extremes, Nelson believes these tests are critical for understanding real-world durability. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold's fiery failure raises serious questions about its reliability compared to competitors like Samsung’s folding devices, which have never combusted under similar scrutiny.
