CalDigit, a renowned name in the technology accessories market, has officially announced the launch of two cutting-edge Thunderbolt 5 docks, dubbed the TS5 and TS5 Plus. These innovative docks promise exceptional performance, supporting transfer speeds of up to an impressive 80Gb/s. Moreover, when paired with Apple’s latest Thunderbolt 5 Macs, users can experience an enhanced speed feature that boosts this rate to a staggering 120Gb/s, making these docks ideal for professionals and tech enthusiasts who demand high-speed data transfer.

The TS5 dock is designed with versatility in mind, boasting a total of 15 ports that cater to a variety of connectivity needs. Among these, there are four Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-A ports, and three USB-C ports, two of which are conveniently located on the front. Additionally, the dock includes a headphone jack, an SD card slot, a microSD card slot, and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port. Notably, one of the front USB-C ports supports 20W charging, allowing users to power up devices easily while managing their work.

In contrast, the TS5 Plus takes connectivity to the next level with an impressive 20 ports. This dock features three Thunderbolt 5 ports, five USB-C ports (two positioned at the front for easy access), and five USB-A ports, making it exceptionally versatile for users with multiple devices. Like the TS5, the TS5 Plus includes a headphone jack, an SD card slot, and a microSD card slot; however, it stands out with a more powerful 10Gb Ethernet port. One of the front ports supports 36W charging, and two of the rear Thunderbolt 5 ports also offer similar charging capabilities, enabling the TS5 Plus to effectively power more devices simultaneously. Additionally, the dock utilizes a Dual USB 10Gb/s controller design, ensuring enhanced USB performance.

Both docks provide a robust 140W power delivery, which is sufficient to charge Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro at full speed, an attractive feature for professionals who rely on their laptops for intensive tasks. Furthermore, users can connect multiple high-resolution displays; the docks support two 4K displays at a remarkable 240Hz refresh rate or dual 8K displays at 60Hz, making them perfect for graphic design, video editing, and gaming.

The TS5 Plus is priced competitively at $500, with availability expected from the CalDigit website in late April. Meanwhile, the TS5 will be available for $370 starting in late May. As the demand for high-performance connectivity solutions grows, these new Thunderbolt 5 docks from CalDigit are poised to meet the needs of both creative professionals and tech aficionados.
