Audi is presenting a unique opportunity for collectors and motorsport enthusiasts to own a piece of racing history. The German automobile manufacturer is now offering factory prototypes from its acclaimed Le Mans and DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) racing programs for the first time, aimed specifically at a select group of international clients. This initiative, known as “Audi Sport racing legends,” involves the meticulous rebuilding of chassis from the brand’s celebrated racing campaigns, ensuring they are restored to their original specifications and delivered in a condition ready for driving.

The program was officially launched in Neuburg an der Donau, Germany, where Audi unveiled the inaugural two race cars available for purchase: chassis 107 of the RS 5 DTM and chassis 207 of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro. Both vehicles have a rich history, having been significant contributors to Audi's success in motorsport. The RS 5 DTM, expertly driven by Timo Scheider, clinched victory at the Hockenheimring in 2015, while the R18 e-tron quattro, piloted by a trio of talented drivers—Romain Dumas, Loïc Duval, and Marc Gené—secured a prestigious victory at the World Endurance Championship (WEC) event held at Spa in 2012.

This offering goes beyond merely selling cars; it provides buyers with a gateway into the illustrious legacy of Audi’s motorsport achievements. Rolf Michl, the Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH, highlighted this aspect when he stated, “Our customers become part of a select circle. They benefit from our motorsport expertise and receive comprehensive support.” Each vehicle purchased will come complete with full technical assistance, a supply of spare parts, and expert guidance from the original developers who played a crucial role in the cars' design and performance.

Audi has ambitious plans to showcase this exciting program at several prominent automotive events throughout the year, including the Jim Clark Revival in Germany, the Le Mans Classic in France, and the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. As anticipation builds, the first delivery of these historic vehicles is scheduled for this summer, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Audi’s iconic motorsport legacy.
