A small plane crashed near an airport in Denton County on Friday, according to officials. Emergency services responded to a report of the crash at about 7:10 p.m. near the Propwash Airport, the city of Justin’s fire department said in a news release. Preliminary information indicates that a 2019 Saberwing Lightsport aircraft went down, but it’s not immediately clear what caused the crash, according to the news release. It also says the number of occupants and the extent of injuries are being assessed. NBC5 has reported that one person died in the crash. Advertisement Earlier in the evening, Krystal Gonzalez Haynes, a city official, deferred all further questions about the crash to DPS because it occurred outside of the city limits. The department didn’t immediately respond to a comment request Friday. The Dallas Morning News also reached out to the Propwash Airport but didn’t immediately receive a response.
