More info Harry Potter actor Nick Moran is facing a grim prognosis of potentially never being able to walk or talk again due to a severe health condition. The news was shared on social media by his friend Terry Stone, who revealed that Moran had been urgently taken to hospital for major surgery. A photograph of Moran in his hospital bed, giving a thumbs-up to the camera, was also shared. The 55 year old actor, known for his roles in Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and 2, sought medical help after experiencing neck pain, which led to the discovery of his serious condition. Despite initially being hesitant to seek help, opting instead to use deep heat, Moran's girlfriend convinced him to get checked out. Upon visiting the doctors, he was told that he needed immediate surgery due to the life-threatening nature of his condition. Moran, also recognised for his role in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, had injured his neck, leading to complications with his spinal cord and affecting his speech and leg function. In a conversation with MailOnline, Stone said: "He's recovering but [doctors] basically said he might never walk or talk again, which was traumatic. He's not in the best of health, but when he came out of the operation I was like 'thank God' because I think he'd decided he'd rather not walk or talk than die.", reports the Manchester Evening News. The surgical procedure involved cutting into Moran's spine and removing four bones from his neck, which were then replaced with artificial ones, Stone further explained. Nick Moran's podcast co-host Terry has provided a promising update on the star's health, stating that he is recovering well after major surgery, as reported by the Mirror. Nick is reportedly making good progress, able to speak and move around, following the operation. The news of Nick's condition was initially shared by Terry on social media, along with a photo of Nick in hospital. Terry wrote: "News update for you all on Nick Moran. "He's had major surgery and is recovering in the ICU he's giving us the thumbs up but still needs your support, prayers and love. Let's pray he fully recovers and is be back to normal soon." Terry also mentioned that Nick had appeared as a guest on their podcast a few months prior, noting that Nick is a private person and doesn't use social media. He concluded by promising to keep fans updated on Nick's progress, saying: "If there are any further updates on Nick I will let you all know in the live chat this coming Sunday."
