The Brazilian, who joined United for £82million from Ajax in August 2022, has impressed since his loan move to Betis in the January transfer window. He has scored four goals and added four assists in 15 matches. When Antony signed his contract, there was a clause inserted that Betis needed to pay a £479,000 loan fee to United if he made less than 15 appearances, according to ABC Sevilla. However, as Antony reached that milestone during his side's 2-1 defeat against Villarreal on Sunday, Betis have avoided paying the additional figure. It's added that Betis, who are said to be paying 84 per cent of Antony's £140,000 per-week salary, are planning to hold talks with United over a permanent move for the forward. The 25-year-old is thought to have made it clear that he would like to extend his stay at the Seville-based club. Antony scored his first Betis goal during a 3-2 defeat against Celta Vigo on February 8. Since, Betis have won six of their last eight La Liga matches, with Antony playing a huge role in their excellent domestic form. He has also excelled in the Conference League, helping them to the quarter-final. He has impressed so much that Betis are determined to keep hold of him beyond the end of his loan spell. "It's a source of personal satisfaction, but it's the result of teamwork," said Fajardo, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo. "I'm responsible for the sporting direction, but there are many people involved in this signing. It's still early, but we'll try in different ways to do everything possible to continue enjoying Antony." Meanwhile, Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini was full of praise for Antony when asked about his progress earlier this month - and hinted that he is keen to keep him at the club. "Antony is a very special case. When players are paid €100 million, it's no coincidence. He must have shown important things to reach that figure. I'm not going to analyse Antony's previous time at Manchester United," Pellegrini told El Larguero. Article continues below "[Antony] came here convinced that he had to mature. He has more than enough potential. More than demonstrating his ability, I think he's proving to be a practical player. Doing two or three important things in a match shows what a good player he is rather than trying to do strange things with the ball. "He's more focused on finishing plays well, making good crosses, looking for shots on goal, and also being very involved in the team's collective functioning."
