In a momentous celebration of heavy metal history, Black Sabbath has unveiled a new photograph showcasing the legendary original lineup of the band—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. This photograph also features an array of superstar musicians who are set to pay tribute to the band's remarkable impact, influence, and legacy at their farewell concert titled Back To The Beginning, taking place in Birmingham tomorrow, July 5.

The photograph captures the excitement surrounding the event, which includes prominent figures from the music industry. Among them are the four members of Metallica, Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown from Pantera, Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, David Draiman of Disturbed, Tobias Forge from Ghost, Zakk Wylde, who has been a long-time guitarist for Ozzy, and Mike Inez, the bassist from Alice In Chains, who spent four years playing with Ozzy.

This concert not only signifies the end of Black Sabbath’s extraordinary career but also marks the final performance of Ozzy Osbourne as a solo artist. In a recent interview with Classic Rock's Dave Everley, Ozzy expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am very blessed to say my goodbyes with the help of so many amazing musicians and friends.” This heartfelt statement echoes the sentiments of fans and peers alike as they prepare to witness this monumental event.

The Back To The Beginning concert will be particularly special, as it will be the first time since 2005 that Osbourne, Iommi, Butler, and Ward have performed together. Their last full-length concert occurred in September 2005 in West Palm Beach, Florida, as part of the Ozzfest tour, a testament to the enduring legacy of the band.

In addition to the legendary lineup of Black Sabbath, the concert will feature performances from other significant heavy metal acts including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Gojira, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, Halestorm, and Mastodon. Attendees can also look forward to an all-star “supergroup,” which will include notable musicians like Billy Corgan, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, David Ellefson (formerly of Megadeth), and Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit. Tom Morello will serve as the musical director for this historic event, while actor Jason Momoa, recognized for his roles in Aquaman and Game Of Thrones, will take on the role of compere.

“We have a very, very simple goal,” Morello stated earlier this year. “And that’s to make this the greatest day in the history of heavy metal. And to that end, you’ve probably seen the listed setlist. And let me tell you, there’s some huge superstars who are gonna be surprises on that day too. So, the idea is to really acknowledge the importance of that band in a way that the whole world will forever know.”

Fans who cannot attend the concert in person will still have the opportunity to experience the show, as it will be streamed globally. The streaming event is scheduled to begin promptly at 3 PM UK time on July 5, with repeat viewing available for 48 hours post-event. Tickets are priced at £24.99 on the Back To The Beginning website, and a special ticket option that includes an exclusive t-shirt is available for £54.99. It’s noteworthy that the stream will operate on a two-hour time delay, prompting viewers to prepare for a unique online experience.
