Osimhen scores 30th goal of the season as Galatasaray reach Turkish Cup final
Victor Osimhen scored the opener in Galatasaray’s 5-1 thrashing of Konyaspor to qualify for the final of the Turkish Cup. The 26-year-old opened the scoring in a goal-fest semi-final held at the Torku Arena on Tuesday. Galatasaray qualified for the final four after defeating arch-rivals Fenerbahce 2-1 in the quarter-final. Osimhen scored a brace in the feisty match, which had four red cards. The semi-final was a complete cruise for the Yellow-Reds with two goals in the first half. Osimhen struck first in the 26th minute. Dries Mertens swung a curling cross into the Konyaspor goal area, and the Super Eagles striker met the ball with a powerful header that sent it straight into the top corner. The strike was Osimhen’s 30th goal of the season in all competitions for Galatasaray. He has 21 goals in the league, six in the Europa League and three in the Turkish Cup.
