IJAMSVILLE, Md., April 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In a momentous celebration of excellence in the world of golf, KemperSports has announced that Andrew Blockinger, the Head Golf Professional at Holly Hills, has been awarded the prestigious title of Emil Esposito Golf Professional of the Year. This accolade was presented during the 2025 Annual KemperSports Leadership Conference, held in Glenview, Illinois, where industry leaders gathered to recognize outstanding individuals in the golf community.

The Emil Esposito award is named in honor of the late Emil Esposito, a revered PGA Professional whose lifelong dedication to the sport of golf exemplified a commitment to teaching and promoting the game as more than just a competition, but rather as a vital part of life and community. The award aims to celebrate those who share this vision and exhibit a similar passion for the sport.

Mike Barrett, the General Manager of Holly Hills, spoke highly of Andrews accomplishments and the positive impact he has made in a short span of just two years. Andrew has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and innovation, transforming Holly Hills' golf program into a vibrant and inclusive community, Barrett commented. We are incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated individual as part of the Holly Hills family, and we celebrate his well-deserved recognition among more than 100 golf professionals in the KemperSports family who work tirelessly to grow the game.

Blockingers journey into the world of golf began at a young age, inspired by his grandfather, an enthusiastic golfer himself. Growing up in nearby New Market, Maryland, Andrew was exposed to the sport early on, which sparked a lifelong passion. At the age of 15, he took his first steps into the industry by working as an outside service team member at Worthington Manor Golf Club. This early experience ignited his commitment to pursuing a career in golf.

After graduating from Linganore High School, Andrew further honed his skills and knowledge by enrolling in the Professional Golf Management Program at Coastal Carolina University located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He successfully completed the program while also earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. In addition, he achieved his Class A membership with the PGA, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey.

Throughout his career, Andrew has dedicated himself to working within the Mid-Atlantic section of the United States, gaining invaluable experience at both private and public clubs. His diverse background includes serving as Assistant Golf Professional at esteemed locations such as Musket Ridge Golf Club and Chartwell Country Club. With a keen focus on enhancing the golf experience through exceptional service, tournament operations, and merchandising, Andrew has significantly elevated the golf offerings available to the Holly Hills Country Club membership, their families, and guests alike.
