Samsung has officially resumed the rollout of its One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 in South Korea as of April 17, 2025. This continuation comes after the company had to temporarily suspend the update shortly after its initial debut on April 10, which affected users in the U.S. and Europe.

The pause in the rollout was due to the emergence of a serious bug that hindered users' ability to unlock their Galaxy S24 devices, raising concerns among the user base. In light of these issues, Samsung has worked quickly to address the problems and is now issuing a new build for devices in South Korea.

According to a post by tech commentator Tarun Vats on X, the updated One UI 7 build that has restarted the rollout is identified as version vS928NKSU4BYD9. Users in South Korea can expect to receive this update on their Galaxy S24 series devices. While the new build is limited to South Korea for now, it raises hopes that a broader global rollout may soon follow.

Concerning the update's file size, the new version is approximately 292MB. This is considerably smaller compared to the original update, which was around 5GB. This smaller size may be beneficial for users who were unable to install the initial update before Samsung halted it due to the bug. As the week progresses, users are encouraged to stay vigilant, as there is potential for One UI 7 to reach other global regions by mid-April.

Despite the initial excitement surrounding the launch of One UI 7 on April 10 for Galaxy S24 users in the U.S. and Europe, the joy quickly turned to disappointment following the update's suspension. Along with the Galaxy S24, the rollout also included Samsung's latest devices such as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6, all of which faced the same fate when Samsung paused the updates.

The decision to suspend the rollout on April 14 came just four days after the initial launch, following reports of a critical unlocking issue from users. This prompted Samsung to not only halt the update in Western regions but also in markets like China and Vietnam.

In a statement to Android Central, a Samsung representative indicated that the company was forced to revise its One UI 7 rollout schedule to better align with the current situation and user experience.

In an interesting turn, a user on Reddit shared that they had received a notification from the Samsung Members app hinting at a new timeline for the One UI 7 release. According to this notification, the update should become available for the Galaxy S24, Flip 6, and Fold 6 later in April, while several older devices might start receiving the update in May. As Samsung continues to navigate these challenges, the community remains hopeful for a smoother rollout process moving forward.
