Infosys Dismisses 240 Trainees at Mysuru Campus Following Failed Assessments

BENGALURU: In a significant move, Infosys, one of Indias leading IT services companies, has recently terminated 240 trainees stationed at its Mysuru campus. This decision was taken after the trainees were unable to pass an internal assessment despite being given multiple opportunities to demonstrate their competencies. Specifically, the affected trainees were provided with three attempts to meet the required benchmarks, alongside various forms of support including ample preparation time, mock assessments, and sessions dedicated to clearing doubts.
Despite these comprehensive measures, which aimed to enhance their chances of success, the trainees fell short of the necessary standards set by the company. This unfortunate event marks the third instance of such terminations at the Mysuru facility in a relatively short span. Back in February, Infosys had let go of approximately 350 fresh graduates due to similar reasons, and just a month later, in March, 45 more trainees faced the same fate.
In response to the recent dismissals, Infosys has outlined a plan to assist those affected. Upon completing a separation and general release agreement, the company has committed to providing each terminated trainee with one months salary, a relieving letter, and access to a 12-week training program aimed at preparing them for potential roles in the Business Process Management (BPM) sector.
To further support these former trainees in their career pursuits, Infosys has entered into partnerships with educational organizations such as NIIT and UpGrad. These collaborations will sponsor training programs designed to equip the affected individuals with the necessary skills for future job opportunities in the BPM industry. Such initiatives underscore Infosyss commitment to not only uphold its internal standards but also to assist its former employees in navigating the challenges of employment in a competitive job market.
