Darwin Nunez shows his true colours after Arne Slot shoots down Liverpool bust-up rumours Darwin Nunez has broken his silence on social media following rumours of a fallout with Liverpool boss Arne Slot Darwin Nunez was left out of Liverpool's squad against West Ham (Image: Nikki Dyer - LFC/Liverpool FC via Getty Images ) Darwin Nunez has posted on social media for the first time after rumours circulated of a potential rift between himself and Liverpool boss Arne Slot. The 25-year-old striker has endured a difficult season at Liverpool. Nunez has only managed to score seven goals in his 42 appearances under Slot. The Dutch manager also hasn't seen Nunez as the striker to play, starting him just eight times in the Premier League. Amid talk of a strained relationship between the pair, rumours began to circulate of a potential bust-up last week after Nunez was left out of the squad for Liverpool's 2-1 win over West Ham at Anfield. Article continues below When quizzed about why the Uruguayan forward was left out, Slot said: "No, he didn't [have a falling-out]. He did leave the pitch because he didn't feel himself. [He left the pitch] as in he didn't have words with a staff member. "He didn't feel himself the day before the match, and he went inside and he wasn't able to be part of the team the day after. That can mean multiple things, yes. He didn't feel himself..." Since Slot has responded to the rumours, Nunez has now broken his silence via social media. He took to Instagram to share a slideshow of pictures taken from an 'Inside Training' video posted on Liverpool's official YouTube channel. He captioned the photos simply with two emojis - one emoji was a flexing arm and the other was an egg timer. After 'not feeling himself' before last weekend, this may be Nunez saying he is working on getting back to full speed. Across all the images, Nunez appears to cut a relaxed figure. This could certainly help alleviate any talk of the 25-year-old striker not being happy at the club. Article continues below Despite this, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano still believes the plan for Nunez has not changed. He is expected to leave the club this summer with Saudi Arabia very interested in taking the once-£85m striker. However, after the club reportedly rejected a £70m bid from Al-Hilal, all options are said to be open.
