Taking to Instagram, the beloved 69 year old Gardeners' World presenter paid an emotional tribute to his departed friend Rosie with a poignant photograph of a stunning sunset. Monty's caption read: "The end of a profoundly moving and celebratory day saying goodbye to a dear friend – all done in magnificent style. I think Rosie would have approved." Article continues below One of them responded by saying: "Condolences Monty. A beautiful picture for your friend." Another commented with compassion: "May loving memories give solace." Monty's followers found solace in his words. He's previously talked candidly about the role of gardening and nature in helping him navigate tough times and sorrow. In an intimate talk on BBC Radio 4, Monty shared: "One of the things that has always moved me, and this has often been said by people who are grieving, is that the rhythm of the seasons is a huge comforter." Expanding further, he observed: "In the bleakest midwinter, you trust that spring will come, that the blossom will appear. You sow a seed and you trust that it will flower." For Monty, nature is not just a source of comfort but also a beacon of stability during tumultuous periods: "Underneath it all, there is that rhythm of nature. More than ever, we need that. Everybody needs it – always and always has done." Monty was taken to A&E last year during his tour, An Audience with Monty Don, leading the star to cancel shows. He shared at the time: "I am so sorry to have disappointed all those people who were going to come and see me. "On Friday afternoon I was rushed to A and E. I was kept in hospital over Saturday, Sunday and Monday and had to have drips and all the rest of it. Article continues below "I came home last night and I'm feeling much better. I'm going to spend the next few days quietly recuperating."
