Jack Leiter’s IL stint could end soon as Texas Rangers map out his return to rotation

ARLINGTON - Jack Leiter will take on the final challenge of his blister odyssey Tueday. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Leiter, on the IL with a blister on his right middle finger since April 3, will pitch Tuesday for Triple-A Round Rock on a rehab assignment start against Las Vegas. If that outing, expected to last 60-65 pitches goes well, Leiter would be in position to return to the starting rotation either next Sunday at San Francisco or April 28 against the Athletics in Arlington. Leiter pitched well in his two starts before the blister developed in the fifth inning of an April 2 outing against Cincinnati. Rangers Be the smartest Rangers fan. Get the latest news.
