More info Presenter Brendan Courtney has ventured to the seaside in his recent move to Wicklow, where he is closer to family and enjoying a simpler life. However, it has also brought some welcome lifestyle perks, as the designer and presenter enjoys sea swims and running with his dog. “I started sea swimming and there is nowhere like it,” he told The Irish Times. "I wanted to simplify my life.” The presenter funded the move from Dublin City centre with the sale of a flat he owned in London, and was able to pour €270,000 into impressive renovations, reports The Irish Times. “It’s very stripped back, but that is my thing,” he explained. The two bedrooms feature a primary bedroom that is a shrine to simplicity and tranquility, while the second bedroom acts as a walk in wardrobe. The layout of the original building was rearranged, so now the entrance opens into a large entryway turned home office. Light is a huge factor, with large glass and steel doors and windows allowing the natural rhythms of the sun dictate the ambiance in the home. The simple finishings are decorated with natural elements and unique treasures curated through the presenter's colourful life. There are future plans for the garden, which include the potential construction of a lengths pool and paving of the garden, but these plans are on hold for now.
