Two adults and two children rushed to hospital following crash in Sligo as Gardai appeal for witnesses

Two adults and two children under the age of 10 have been rushed to hospital following a two-car collision in Sligo. Gardaí and emergency services attended the collision, which occurred on the N59 in Ballysadare at approximately 2.30pm on Monday afternoon. The four occupants of one of the vehicles involved - two adult females, aged in their 40s and 20s, and two children, a nine-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl - were subsequently transported by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital with what are described as serious injuries. The sole occupant of the second vehicle, a woman in her 50s, was also taken to the hospital for assessment. Local traffic diversions are in place as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users or pedestrians who were in the area at the time and have camera footage (including dash-cam recordings) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
