Earlier, he ordered all federal and state flags to fly at half-mast in honour of the pontiff. Emmanuel Macron The French president told a local broadcaster today he would go to the funeral. "In this time of war and brutality, he had a sense for the other, for the most fragile," he said in a tribute to the pontiff yesterday. Volodymyr Zelenskyy Sources have told the Reuters news agency Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to Italy for Pope Francis's funeral. The Ukrainian leader has met the pope during the war. Lula da Silva Brazil's president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and first lady Janja Lula da Silva will be at the funeral as well, the country's government announced. Brazil has also declared a seven-day mourning for the pope.
