It's time to vote for the Detroit Free Press Girls Prep Athlete of the Week for April 13-19. This week's poll features five players, three softball and two soccer. Voting will be open until 11:59 a.m. Thursday. We'll announce the winner here shortly after the poll closes. Here are this nominees (listed in alphabetical order by last name): Ivy Davenport, softball, Ithaca: The senior pitcher led her team to five-straight victories. In the first set of games against Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Davenport had 10 strikeouts and scored five times as a first baseman, and tallied six runs batted in (RBIs). In the second double-header against Hemlock, she collected nine strikeouts and four RBIs. Davenport concluded her weeklong performance during a school invitational and threw a total of 19 strikeouts during the team's two games against Unionville-Sebewaing and Gladstone. Abby Ellis, soccer, Waterford Mott: Ellis scored four goals in the team's two games during the week of Aprl 13. The senior scored all three goals in the team's 3-2 victory over Waterford Kettering and once against Lakeland. Hannah Feijoo, softball, Trenton: The senior pitcher and third baseman helped the Trojans win three out of the team's four games. Feijoo had a batting average of .500 and threw 214 pitches across 14 innings, earning a 2-1 record in the games she served as a starting pitcher. Emily Mendrick, soccer, Troy Athens: The Red Hawks won their games against the Stoney Creek Cougers and Grosse Ille Red Devils, giving up only one point between both games. The senior midfielder scored one goal and collected an assist April 15 against the Cougars and finished with three goals and another assist April 17 against the Red Devils. Olivia Salinas, softball, Riverview: The Pirates won three out of their four games against Flat Rock, Huron and Trenton high schools the week of April 13. The senior pitcher and third baseman threw for 12 innings and had eight strikeouts, along with five hits, including three doubles and a home run.
