A year and a half after returning to the place where it all started, Colin Mochrie is coming home again. The East Vancouver–raised comedy icon will do five performances at The Improv Centre’s Granville Island stage from June 4-6. Mochrie, whose career spans the stage, TV, and movies, is perhaps best known for his starring role on Drew Carey’s Whose Line Is It Anyway? He last appeared with The Improv Centre cast in the fall of 2023. An alumni of Killarney Secondary School, Mochrie got his start with the TheatreSports League (which turned into The Improv Centre). The comedian cofounded TheatreSports in the '80s following his graduation from Langara’s Studio 58 theatre program. In announcing the upcoming shows, The Improv Centre artistic director Jalen Saip said: “Anytime that Colin Mochrie comes back to perform on our stage is a delight for both our audiences and our performers. We count ourselves very lucky to have such a talented, kind, and collaborative alumni member who makes us all feel like part of the team.” Tickets for what’s being billed as The Return of Colin Mochrie go on sale to the general public on Thursday (April 24) at 10 a.m. Colin Mochrie When: June 4-6 Where: The Improv Centre Tickets: $75 and up at theimprovcentre.ca
