LONDON, April 22. /TASS/. Ukraine has sent its drone warfare instructors to the United Kingdom to train the British military, The Times reported. It said the training takes place under Britain’s Interflex training program for Ukrainian recruits. The story says that the instructors, who took part in combat operations, share their experience in countering Russian tactics of using UAVs with both British military personnel and Ukrainian cadets. According to the British Defense Ministry, British instructors have trained 50,000 Ukrainian troops between February 2022 and November 2024. The Times quoted Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Veterans and People Alistair Carns as calling for a change in government policy regarding the use of UAVs. The former marine who holds the position of deputy minister at the Defense Ministry said UAVs should be able to fire autonomously without human approval, which is now prohibited.
