The incident happened on Chester Road, near the Thamesdale junction, shortly before 8.45am today with the road being closed by police for around an hour, reports CheshireLive. ‌ Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "At 8.42am on Wednesday, April 23, police were called to reports of a collision on Chester Road, Whitby. Article continues below "Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a pedal cyclist and a grey Peugeot Boxer van. "The cyclist, a 15-year-old boy, is not believed to have sustained any serious injuries, but was taken to the Countess of Chester as a precautionary measure. ‌ "The road was closed while officers dealt with the collision, it reopened at 9.45am."
