Specialist investigators from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) will today (April 24) continue the probe into the major blaze in Alexandra Street. Flames tore through the shared roof of the terraced property at just before noon yesterday (April 23). It left devastation in its wake. Unconfirmed reports suggest that at least one family has lost 'everything' in the fire. Blue watch will also be carrying out a 'fire strike'. "We will be in the area this afternoon, delivering leaflets and offering safe and well-being checks to all residents in the area," the spokesperson said. "We would encourage anyone with any concerns or those who would like a check to come and talk to us." Initial 999 calls were made just before noon and, due to the severity of the blaze, there were seven appliances at the scene - including from Nuneaton, Atherstone and neighbouring Foleshill and Coventry fire stations as well as the turntable ladder from Leamington Fire Station. After the main fire was extinguished, a fire engine remained at the scene until midnight and another is set to return this morning.
