A man was suffering from stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance City police say a local man. who was out on bail for several serious previous charges, was arrested Wednesday for a stabbing that occurred earlier that morning. The attack left another man in hospital with serious injuries. Just after midnight yesterday officers were called to a disturbance on Gladstone Avenue, in the Ferris area. "Upon arrival, a male was suffering from stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance," says Cst. Merv Shantz. "Officers began to investigate the incident and learned that the accused had attended a residence on Gladstone Avenue at around 11:20 pm on Tuesday, April 22, and had caused some damage to a vehicle and assaulted a person in the driveway." Police say the man left the area, returning approximately 1.5 hours later, at which time he smashed a window and gained entry to the residence. Once inside, a fight started, and then the victim, an adult male was stabbed with an edged weapon. The attacker then stole the victim’s backpack and fled. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A suspect was later arrested without incident. Patrick Daniel Morin, 27, is charged with: Break, enter, and commit an aggravated assault Robbery Assault Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose Carrying a concealed weapon Mischief under $5m000 Six counts of failing to comply with a release order Two counts of driving while under suspension Morin remains in custody for a bail hearing. Police did not reveal what the previous serious charges involved.
