Little Current crash leads to slew of charges

Police say the driver hit a parked car in the crash NEWS RELEASE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE ************************ LITTLE CURRENT - One person has been arrested and is facing impaired-related charges after a two-vehicle collision in Little Current. On Friday, April 18, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle collision where a person drove their vehicle into a parked vehicle, causing damage. Police arrived on scene and determined that the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. Further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation. As a result, Stephanie Deer, 31 years old from Sheguindah, was charged with: Operation while impaired - drugs Operate a motor vehicle without insurance Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner Use plate not authorized for vehicle Careless driving Novice driver - presence of drug Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on June 10, 2025. The OPP wants to remind the public that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe while driving.
