A horrific workplace incident has left a woman fighting for life in Melbourne. Ambulance Victoria said a woman suffered serious lower body injuries and was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition. She was reportedly trapped under a metal coil. The location is reportedly in or near Bluescope Steel factory’s Western Port site. Police have cordoned off the area as investigations are underway. In July last year, a workplace accident at the Bluescope Steel factory in Hastings resulted in the amputation of a man’s left foot. Pete Munyan, 47, was working the night shift at the factory when a 10-tonne steel beam that was attached to a crane fell on him. He was trapped for two hours before being rescued.
