A young child is fighting for life in hospital in after being pulled unresponsive from a backyard pool on Friday. The boy was found in the water at private property in Glen Niven, a rural town in the Southern Downs Region of Queensland near the NSW border, just before 2.30pm, the Courier Mail reports. Queensland Ambulance Service were told the boy had suffered a medical episode. He was taken to Stanthorpe Hospital before being flown by helicopter to Brisbane in a critical condition.
