Meet the Greater Manchester man taking on a 'Useless' eight-day bus trip

Meet the Greater Manchester man taking on a 'Useless' eight-day bus trip His journey will take him from Great Britain's most southern bus stop to its most northern point (Image: James White ) A man from Middleton is taking part in an eight-day bus journey for charity, and is urging people to get involved with just £12.20 being enough to fund one potentially life-saving call. James White's "Useless Bus Trip", which started on Wednesday April 23, will be raising money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) charity, and has already amassed over £1,200 since the fundraiser launched three days ago. The massive journey, which started at Lamb's End bus stop in Cornwall, is expected to be part of 49 bus journeys with the end destination being at John O'Groats - which has Great Britain's most northern bus stop. "The way my brain works I thought 'can you do this by bus?' "Most people cycle or walk the journey, but I decided to do it by bus." James is embarking on his journey using only timetabled buses that his mum could travel on for free with her bus pass, and will tomorrow (April 26) be passing through his home town of Middleton to stop and see his parents. On his fundraiser page, James joked that he would take on the endeavour during an eight day span, which he "could’ve spent doing something worthwhile [with his] time". He said: "I thought the day before the journey that I could do this for charity because why not?
