In a significant development for the blockchain and tokenization landscape in Indonesia, Saison Capital, BRI Ventures, and Coinvestasi have officially launched an innovative accelerator program named Tokenize Indonesia. This initiative aims to identify and support startups focusing on RWA (real-world asset) tokenization. The program is designed to stimulate innovation and facilitate the adoption of tokenized assets in the region.

The impetus behind Tokenize Indonesia stems from insights detailed in the comprehensive report titled Project Wira Indonesias Asset Tokenization Opportunity, published in November 2024. This report estimates that Indonesia has a staggering market potential of approximately $88 billion in asset tokenization, underscoring the immense opportunities that lie within the countrys financial ecosystem.

Set to run from April to August 2025, the Tokenize Indonesia program will select promising startups to conduct proof of concepts (POCs) in collaboration with some of the leading corporations in the country. Notable partners include financial institutions such as Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and major telecommunications providers like Telkom Indonesia. This collaboration is expected to provide startups with invaluable exposure to industry challenges and insights, helping them refine their business models and enhance their solutions.

The program is set to culminate in a grand showcase event at Coinfest Asia, recognized as Asias largest crypto festival, to be held on August 21-22, 2025, in the picturesque setting of Bali. This event will serve as a platform for the shortlisted startups to present their innovations to a broader audience, including investors and potential partners.

The official announcement of Tokenize Indonesia was made during ONCHAIN 2025, an annual conference organized by Saison Capital, D3 Labs, Helix, and Emurgo. This prestigious event brings together influential investors, founders, and leaders from both traditional finance and the fintech industry, fostering dialogue and collaboration. This year, ONCHAIN attracted over 500 attendees, marking a notable success in terms of participation and engagement.

He pointed out the rapid escalation in developer talent, institutional engagement, and enhanced regulatory clarity, all of which are pivotal for fostering long-term progress in the industry. Suhadi emphasized Coinvestasis mission to connect the ecosystem, facilitate meaningful discussions, and forge partnerships that propel the industry forward.

The blockchain and tokenization ecosystem in Indonesia is undergoing rapid evolution, propelled by a tech-savvy population, an expanding middle class, a flourishing fintech sector, and an increasing embrace of digital payment infrastructure. These dynamics are creating a fertile environment for blockchain-based innovations to emerge and scale. A notable finding from Project Wira indicates that around 7% of Indonesias population currently owns digital assets, a figure that significantly exceeds the 6.4 million investors participating in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This points to the substantial potential for further adoption and growth.

Innovative ventures are already emerging in various sectors, including digital currency, commodities, bonds, carbon credits, and real estate. The report anticipates that the demand for asset tokenization in Indonesia could reach an impressive $88 billion by 2030. For real-world asset startups keen on tapping into this vast opportunity, applications for Tokenize Indonesia are now open.
