In a significant move to foster innovation in the blockchain and tokenization sector, Saison Capital, BRI Ventures, and Coinvestasi have formally introduced Tokenize Indonesia, an accelerator program specifically designed to identify and support startups focused on Real-World Assets (RWA). This initiative aligns with Indonesia's growing interest in the tokenization of various asset classes and aims to bolster the countrys burgeoning tech ecosystem.

The accelerator is not just another program; it is a strategic response to findings from the November 2024 report titled Project Wira Indonesias Asset Tokenization Opportunity, which estimated a staggering market potential of $88 billion for asset tokenization in Indonesia. This report highlights the transformative impact that blockchain technology could have on the countrys financial landscape.

Tokenize Indonesia is set to span from April to August 2025, during which selected startups will engage in Proof of Concepts (POCs) in collaboration with some of Indonesias leading corporations, including prominent financial institutions like Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and major telecommunications providers such as Telkom Indonesia.

The culmination of this accelerator program will take place in August at Coinfest Asia, Asia's largest cryptocurrency festival, scheduled for August 21-22, 2025, in the picturesque setting of Bali. This high-profile event will provide a platform for shortlisted startups to showcase their innovations and share their visions with an audience keen on the future of digital assets.

The announcement was made during ONCHAIN 2025, an influential annual conference organized by Saison Capital alongside D3 Labs, Helix, and Emurgo. This event gathered over 500 industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs from the RWA sector, underscoring the growing significance of blockchain technology in modern finance.

Qin En Looi, a partner at Saison Capital, emphasized the role of blockchain in creating a more inclusive finance system. He stated, At Saison Capital, we believe that blockchain technology and its widespread benefits are foundational in shaping the future of inclusive finance, transforming existing financial systems and creating more equity for all. Looi acknowledged the challenges posed by current market volatility but reaffirmed their commitment to investing in blockchain startups that address real-world financial issues.

Markus Liman Rahardja, the chief investment officer at BRI Ventures, echoed these sentiments. He commented, As the venture arm of one of Indonesias leading financial groups, BRI Ventures is committed to continuously exploring and investing in transformative technologies that will shape the future of finance in Indonesia. Our goal is to foster meaningful collaboration between well-established financial institutions and innovative, fast-moving technology partners. Rahardja highlighted the importance of bridging traditional finance with cutting-edge technology to enable sustainable growth and broaden financial inclusion across the country.

Steven Suhadi, founder of Coinvestasi, noted Indonesia's impressive growth in the Web 3.0 space, stating, With over 20 million crypto users, Indonesia now ranks third globally in Web 3.0 adoption clear evidence of a thriving ecosystem. He emphasized the rapid development of developer talent and institutional engagement, which, coupled with regulatory clarity, creates a robust foundation for long-term progress in the blockchain sector.

Indonesia's blockchain and tokenization landscape is evolving at a remarkable pace, driven by a tech-savvy population, a burgeoning middle class, and an expanding fintech industry. These factors contribute to a fertile environment where blockchain-based innovations can sprout and scale effectively.

According to the findings from Project Wira, seven percent of Indonesia's population currently owns digital assets, significantly exceeding the 6.4 million stock investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This suggests that there is substantial room for growth and adoption of blockchain technology among Indonesian consumers. Innovations are already emerging in various sectors including digital currency, commodities, bonds, carbon credits, and real estate.

The report further projects that demand for asset tokenization in Indonesia could soar to $88 billion by 2030, pointing to the vast opportunities ripe for exploration. For startups eager to tap into this immense potential, applications for the Tokenize Indonesia accelerator are now open.
