Saison Capital, BRI Ventures, and Coinvestasi have joined forces to usher in a new era for Indonesian startups with the launch of Tokenize Indonesia, a groundbreaking accelerator program aimed at identifying and supporting startups focused on Real-World Assets (RWA) within the blockchain and tokenization sectors.

This innovative initiative is designed to catalyze the growth of tokenized assets in Indonesia, a market with substantial potential. According to the report titled Project Wira Indonesias Asset Tokenization Opportunity, released in November 2024, the asset tokenization market in Indonesia is poised to reach an astounding $88 billion. This figure underscores the significance of such programs in fostering a robust ecosystem for startup innovation.

Tokenize Indonesia will kick off its activities from April and continue until August 2025. During this period, selected startups will have the unique opportunity to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) in collaboration with prominent corporations throughout Indonesia. This includes partnerships with leading financial institutions like Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and major telecommunication providers such as Telkom Indonesia.

The culmination of this program will take place in August 2025 at Coinfest Asia, which is recognized as Asias largest cryptocurrency festival, scheduled for August 21-22 in the picturesque island of Bali. This event will serve as a spotlight for the participating startups, showcasing their innovations to a wide array of stakeholders in the crypto and blockchain space.

The announcement of Tokenize Indonesia was made during ONCHAIN 2025, a premier annual conference organized by Saison Capital, D3 Labs, Helix, and Emurgo. This conference serves as a key meeting point for influential investors, ambitious founders, and industry leaders from both traditional finance and fintech sectors. This year, the event attracted over 500 attendees, highlighting the growing interest in the intersection of blockchain technology and finance.

Qin En Looi, a partner at Saison Capital, expressed the firms commitment to the transformative potential of blockchain, stating, At Saison Capital, we believe that blockchain technology and its widespread benefits are foundational in shaping the future of inclusive finance, transforming existing financial systems and creating more equity for all. He emphasized their ongoing investment in blockchain startups that tackle real-world financial challenges, even amidst market volatility.

Markus Liman Rahardja, the chief investment officer at BRI Ventures, echoed this sentiment: As the venture arm of one of Indonesias leading financial groups, BRI Ventures is committed to continuously exploring and investing in transformative technologies that will shape the future of finance in Indonesia. His emphasis on collaboration between established financial institutions and innovative tech startups highlights a strategic approach to fostering sustainable growth and financial inclusion in Indonesia.

Steven Suhadi, founder of Coinvestasi, stressed Indonesia's prominence in the global crypto space, noting, With over 20 million crypto users, Indonesia now ranks third globally in Web 3.0 adoption clear evidence of a thriving ecosystem. He pointed out the rapid growth of developer talent, institutional engagement, and regulatory clarity, which are all crucial for long-term advancement in the blockchain sector.

The evolution of Indonesias blockchain and tokenization ecosystem is fostering an environment ripe for innovation. The country boasts a tech-savvy populace, a burgeoning middle class, and a growing fintech sector, all contributing to an attractive landscape for emerging blockchain solutions. Innovations in areas such as digital money, commodities, bonds, carbon credits, and real estate are already taking root, demonstrating the diverse applications of tokenization technology.

Project Wiras findings underscore that about 7% of Indonesias population owns digital assets, a figure that far surpasses the 6.4 million stock investors registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This indicates a significant opportunity for further adoption of blockchain technologies, with projections estimating that demand for asset tokenization could hit $88 billion by 2030.

For real-world asset startups eager to tap into the significant opportunities in Indonesia, applications for the Tokenize Indonesia program are now open.
