Below we look at his love life, his famous family members and the illness that is chaning his appearance. ‌ Louis Theroux's famous family Louis was born in Singapore but moved with his family to England when he was just one year old and grew up in London. His older brother, Marcel, is a writer and television presenter. Much like Louis, he's produced numerous documentaries for Channel 4 and a series of documentaries for Unreported World, including one about single Japanese men's obsession with 'Junior Idols'. His novels have include A Stranger in The Earth, The Confessions of MyCroft Holmes: A Paper Chase and Strange Bodies. ‌ He is not the only famous relative Louis has as his cousin Justin is also an actor and screenwriter. Justin gained recognition for his work with director David Lynch in the mystery film Mulholland Drive and the thriller film Inland Empire. He has also appeared in films including Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, American Psycho, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttleand Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. ‌ His screenwriting career includes the superhero film Iron Man 2 and the musical comedy drama Rock of Ages. Louis Theroux's love life Louis has been married twice, although has described his first marriage to Susanna Kleeman as a 'marriage of convenience'. They divorced in 2002 and Louis revealed in the Financial Times previously that they weren't married in the typical sense. ‌ He said: "What happened was that my girlfriend was living with me in New York. She was having trouble finding work ... legally. So we got married, to make it easier for her. "We never really considered ourselves married in the full sense – there were no wedding photos or anything like that. It was really a marriage of convenience." Louis married then long-time girlfriend Nancy Strang in 2012 and they have three sons together. ‌ Louis Theroux's condition that is changing appearance In 2023, Louis announced that he suffers from alopecia. The condition - where the immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair loss - first started in his beard and has left him with no eyebrows at all. Sharing an update previously on social media, he wrote: "I’d like to know how I’m supposed to continue a career based largely on raising and lowering different eyebrows WITHOUT ANY EYEBROWS!! "#alopecia I’m seriously thinking of getting them tattooed back on but it feels like a big step! Thoughts?"
