A Cervantes woman who stuck with the same Lotto numbers for 25 years is now $255,000 richer after scoring in the Saturday Lotto on Saturday April 19. The winner from WA said she was left ‘dumbfounded’ after discovering her ticket from Pinnacles Post and News was a Division One prize. “I went to check my ticket, however, the newsagent took me aside and waited until the store was clear to tell me the good news,” she said. The West Aussie said her son was in shock, as he had told her to give up on playing those numbers a long time ago. “I told my son I’d buy him a new car, but he said no mum this is your win you deserve it and need to enjoy it.” The lucky numbers which the woman had been picking for over two decades were 28, 10, 44, 21, 19 and 14. It seems these numbers weren’t just lucky for her — they were chosen by 18 players from across the country resulting in each of them winning a $250,000 slice of Easter Saturday’s $5 million draw. There was only one other WA winner from the 18. It’s been claimed by a Perth local in his fifties who purchased the ticket via Lotterywest Play Online. Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the past week has been a flurry of good news for WA players. “It’s been wonderful to see so many WA families recently celebrate a Division One prize, from our $30 million Powerball win to this duo of Saturday Lotto winners,” he said.
