The Glasgow club are currently under the temporary charge of Barry Ferguson after Philippe Clement was sacked in February. The 44-year-old won the Scottish Premiership to end Celtic's reign of dominance before leaving to take on the Aston Villa job. Gerrard's time in the West Midlands did not end in glory and his spell at Al Ettifaq was no better before leaving in January. Since then, the Liverpool legend has been linked with a number of clubs including most recently the Southampton vacancy. However, he has yet to make the next move in his football management career. While a return to Rangers could be appealing for Gerrard, the former midfielder has also expressed his contentment at being without work at present. I've just travelled seven hours to do this, that's why I come back to play at Anfield, full house, see the lads, have a game of footy, great craic. "I love it you know, I miss it everyday and I speak to Carra and he goes; 'I was made up, I hated the last few years' - but I miss it every day, every single day. I would love to go back and run it back. "To be honest, 'coaching and management, it'll fill the void, blah blah' it doesn't, it's not the same.
