The city's famous faces, fashionistas and food influencers were out in force for the ultra-glitzy launch party for new steak and champagne restaurant The Cut & Craft. The historic former Manchester and Salford Bank building on Moseley Street has undergone a £3.5mn transformation to become the stylish new venue which opens officially today. On Saturday night the owners toasted their arrival to the city scene with a host of invited guests walking what looked like a blue velvet "carpet" into the building - but it was actually the extra long skirt of a female performance artist welcoming guests inside. The dress code was "chic, elegance, glamour" and Manchester high society responded, with guests wearing a string of stylish ensembles for the event. Once inside, the champagne was flowing as the owners set out their stall as a new premium drinking and dining destination for the city. TV stars were out in force, including Love Island All Stars favourite Callum Jones, Corrie's Elle Mulvaney, Married at First Sight stars Sophie Brown and Hannah Kate Norburn, and fashion influencers including Bethany Georgina Smith and Vikki Mitchell. Guests got to enjoy the glamorous makeover of the former bank, which boasts 19th-century Italian palazzo-style architecture. The restaurant has taken shape inside the grand banking hall which has 27-foot-high ceilings, intricate cornicing, and vast arched windows. It becomes the third restaurant from the company, which has had big success with its first sites in Leeds and York with their "accessible luxury" brand.
