Today, Rajaportti looks much like it did over 100 years ago: two dark, cave-like saunas (men and women bathe separately; nudity is customary) alongside changing rooms with mint-green walls and creaky floorboards. Guests can enjoy freshly-baked cinnamon buns in the paisley wallpapered cafe or pick from over 90 beers, including home-brewed varieties. Rajaportti functions similarly to a pub, with a backyard where locals (some have been frequenting Rajaportti every day for decades) hang about after sauna sessions. The space also hosts events, like beer tastings. Of course sauna bathers who are drinking alcohol should take extra care to drink plenty of water and keep hydrated.
