Blackouts latest: Fallout continues as power being restored after tens of millions plunged into darkness in Spain and Portugal

How much power has been restored? Spain's national grid operator has said in its latest update that 99.16% of demand has now been recovered. Red Electrica added that 100% of the transmission grid substations are now operational. That update comes as work continued overnight to restore power to the country after the major outage. It represents a major improvement from where we left you last night, with the country's prime minister telling reporters that 50% of Spain had electricity at around 10.30pm UK time. Over in Portugal, operator REN said overnight that power had returned to 85 of the 89 substations. But the knock-on effects are still continuing this morning, with travel services severely impacted by the outage.
