Three people were assaulted in New Street last weekend. Police said they would be making contact with the victims of the attacks, which took place on Saturday. The force said it came after "a number of people were pushed and spat at". Article continues below A statement said: "He remains in custody while our enquiries continue. Officers will be making contact with the victims as part of their enquiries. "We are committed to keeping the streets of Birmingham safe for everyone who visits. Our teams carry out operations and patrols daily and always investigate any crime reports we receive. "Our investigation continues into Saturday’s assault, and anyone who saw what happened can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting crime reference number 20/222244/25."
