Earlier this month (April), the Loose Women star was flooded with messages of support after she confirmed the family's beloved dog had suddenly became unwell and they were told he 'might not ever fully recover'. Sharing pictures of her cuddling pet pooch Teddy, who had cannulas wrapped in bandages on his leg, Stacey informed her 6.1 million followers at the time: "Our darling Teddy. Teddy became suddenly unwell on Thursday. "It turns out he has a predisposed condition we had no idea about, as he was a rescue. He has been operated on by incredible vets and the next 3-4 days are crucial for him to get through, even then, he might not ever fully recover. "We are praying and hoping so hard that he pulls through & that we can care for him in the best way we possibly can to give him the best life he can have. "We are all truly devastated. He is the sweetest, most protective, loving dog. He’s our family. And far too young to be going through this. We love you Ted. So so much. Pickle Cottage is far too quiet without you. I miss my toilet buddy. Peanut is so sad without his best friend." I know you've all been asking and worrying about Teddy and I'm so grateful for him just being in your thoughts... "I'm so sorry I haven't been on here. I've been trying to get my head around things and also, I'm not a good crier. I hate crying in front of people and I just knew if I'd have come on I'd have just cried. I've cried a lot so I've just tried to keep myself away from any human contact so I can just cry alone. She added: "I don't know why I'm like that, I just don't love to cry in front of people. But Teddy is home, I'm so grateful he's home..." Stacey went on to share that Teddy underwent major surgery after the frightening incident, in which he lost the use of his back legs and which occurred without warning while he had been "running round all day", showing no signs of pain. "The vet was just like, he's had a burst disc, but all of his discs and all of his spine is not looking good at all," Stacey explained. She revealed that doctors described Teddy's spine as "really worn" and that the event that happened could have happened at any time due to a predisposed condition. Stacey with Teddy after his operation (Image: Stacey Solomon Instagram ) She explained that Teddy made it through the operation and the crucial post-op period and now, she has dedicated herself to his care, adjusting her work schedule to be with him. Stacey admitted: "I have moved my work to work from home and cancelled some things so that I can try and help him recover." The star performs daily physiotherapy with Teddy and must express his bladder throughout the day, with the pup remaining on medication and crate rest for at least four weeks following his operation. Expressing his bladder has been a whole humbling experience..." Stacey also told how Teddy's future still remains uncertain, with only a "30 per cent chance he might recover fully". She ent on: "There's also a massive chance that he's going to be disabled and unable to urinate for himself and involuntary poos," before adding that he may need "a lot of physio and help for the rest of his life". She added: "This might be Teddy forever."
