Your stories: 'Similar nervousness to the start of COVID' You have been sending us your stories about what it was like to be in Spain and Portugal when the power went down. One reader near Alicante says there was "absolutely no communication", adding: "Without internet or phones it was impossible to get any information on anything. "It brought back similar nervousness to what we felt at the start of COVID - probably feeling a lack of control. "It was very unsettling not being able to get any updates." Phil and Tina from Fareham, in Barcelona at the moment, say they had no cash and were "unable to purchase a bottle of water because card readers weren't working". But a "very kind shop owner" did give them some water. Someone contacting Sky News from Baza in Andalusia says they still have no electricity after 20 hours - and were up all night trying to keep their tropical fish alive. Another respondent says they drove from Alicante to Marbella "with no signal". They add: "Didn't see many electric cars - I'd say one in four cars in Marbella are Teslas. None around."
