The crash, between a lorry and a male pedestrian in his 60s, took place on Harborne High Street at around 6.30pm on Monday, April 28. ‌ Police said the driver remained at the scene and was helping with enquiries. ‌ READ MORE: Birmingham schoolgirl rushed to hospital after bus crash Buses were temporarily diverted from the high street as emergency services worked at the scene, but has since reopened. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We were called to High street, Harborne, at around 6.30pm yesterday after a pedestrian was hit by a lorry. Article continues below "A man in his 60s was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains today. "The driver of the vehicle was spoken to at the scene and is assisting with our enquiries. "Anyone who witnessed the collision can contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101, quoting log 4808 of 28 April." ‌ A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a collision at the junction of Station Road and High Street in Harborne at 6.22pm. "An ambulance and a critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision. "The pedestrian, a man, was treated for potentially serious injuries and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital."
