A 38-year-old is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 20 NEWS RELEASE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE ***************************** The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a driver after receiving notification from the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR). On April 27 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the OPP stopped the burgundy car on Highway 108, North Shore Township. After investigation, police learned there was no insurance on the car and the wrong plates were being used. Matthieu Lalande, 38-years-old from Elliot Lake, was charged with: Cause motor vehicle to operate without insurance Permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 20. *****************************
