Theo's time in Weatherfield has got off to a messy start with the s caffolder having a secret fling with undertaker Todd behind his wife, Danielle's, back. ‌ As fans of the ITV soap already know, Todd took a shine to Theo following their random meeting on the cobbles last month (March). They met when a piece of scaffolding, from the site Theo is managing, almost hit a dying Julie Carp. ‌ When Theo had to issue a bumbling apology for assuming Julie was fawning illness, it was clear there was a spark between the pair and Todd didn't hide his interest and so his aunt Julie got involved and with mum Eileen Grimshaw's help, orchestrated a plan to get Theo round to the house. At the time, realising he had been set up, Theo spelt out to Todd that he was not gay and he’d appreciate it if he and his crazy aunt would leave him alone. But later, Theo returned to No.11 to see Todd and one thing soon led to another and the pair ended up in a passionate embrace and they have since been sneaking around, even after Todd discovered Theo has a wife, Danielle, and two children. Article continues below Trying to cover-up their secret romance, Todd leaned on Sarah Platt and the pair pretended in front of Danielle to be in a relationship. But that backfired when she saw Sarah with Kit Green, before sharing her concerns with George Shuttleworth who informed her Todd was gay. It led Danielle to think that it was Theo that Sarah was seeing and confront her in the middle of the Rovers Return. But it was Sarah's new love interest Kit Green that sent Danielle on her way and right into Theo's cheating path. Actor James, who previously worked on The Archers, has now shared more about Theo's past, with a religious family, and how he thinks Todd could be the one for him. ‌ "I think, I think it's a very strong bond," he told the Manchester Evening News and other press. "I think it's one of them times in life where it's all in. I think it's all in for him now, because his wife knows, his kids know. It’s Stalingrad. Those bridges are burned. So he’s moving forward. Theo will be seen in a bad way in upcoming scenes (Image: ITV ) "They’re both sacrificing an enormous amount to make it work. Todd is taking all this baggage from this man. From Theo’s point of view, he’s lost his family, he’s getting mocked on the scaffolding site and all these different things. ‌ "So they’re all in, and they’re going to really have a good crack at making this work, on this journey to domestic bliss between the scaffolder and the undertaker." In upcoming scenes, viewers will learn exactly why Theo has struggled so much to be open about his sexuality when he is found drunk and emotional by Billy Mayhew. James shared: "He’s from a devoutly religious background, and that’s what’s made him keep it in,’ James revealed. ‘And I think, for the first time, with Todd it’s more than sexual. Article continues below "I think it’s a man who he’s met and he’s gone, 'Oh my God, like you’re a dear friend, but also I fancy you,' which is how we choose all our partners, right? You just go, 'I fancy you, but actually we get on and you like me back, and you want to look after me!' "I think that basis is where we build the relationship from. And I think he trusts him, and he sees that it is more than that. And Todd is very patient and loving and kind."
