Today's date marks not only the last day of April but also a special occasion known as Wordle Wednesday! On Wednesdays, I like to present a riddle, logic puzzle, or brain teaser that adds a fun twist to the usual routine. The answer will be revealed tomorrow, so make sure to test your wits!
Todays puzzle features three boxes, each offering a statement that may or may not be truthful. Heres the setup: One of the boxes contains gems. Out of the three boxesthe black, the white, and the blueat least one box contains a true statement, while at least one box holds a false statement.
The black box comes with a note that reads, "The white box contains gems." Meanwhile, the white box claims, "Only one box contains gems." Lastly, the blue box states, "Only one box is true." The challenge is to determine in which box the gems are hidden. If you think you've cracked the code, I encourage you to reach out on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Bluesky, or Facebook.

I had a stroke of luck with my guesses today! My first guess, "FLOAT," left me with 160 potential solutions. However, my second guess, "LINER," narrowed it down to just one final answer: "IDLER"a victorious moment indeed! Huzzah!
As part of my scoring system, I earn 1 point for guessing the word in three attempts and another point for defeating the Bot. The Bot, on the other hand, loses 1 point for its five guesses and an additional point because I triumphed. This brings us to a remarkable tie for the month of April!
Erik: 15 points
Wordle Bot: 15 points
If only this had happened on 2XP Friday, I would have secured a commanding lead! Nevertheless, I am quite astonished at my ability to catch up after trailing for a significant part of the month. Double huzzah!
For those curious about the etymology of the word "idler," it stems from the noun "idle," which signifies being inactive or lazy. The suffix "-er" is agentive, meaning "one who." The origin of "idle" is traced back to Old English idel, which translates to "empty, useless, or vain," and possibly from Proto-Germanic idla- meaning "empty" or "vain." Therefore, an "idler" denotes "one who is idle."
