Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable Kate Meynell temporarily steps down

Nottinghamshire Police have announced that Chief Constable Kate Meynell is being treated for cancer and is taking time off from work for treatment. As a result of this situation, Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden has asked Deputy Chief Constable Steve Cooper to step up with immediate effect to temporarily step into the Chief Constable role. As a result ACC Rob Griffin, will now become the temporary Deputy Chief Constable. Kate Meynell, became the Chief Constable in December 2022, after previously serving as the Deputy Chief Constable at Derbyshire Constabulary.
