West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) has confirmed that its firefighters were still battling pockets of fire throughout the night. The fire operation has now been ongoing for 37 hours. At its height on Tuesday night (April 29) there were 75 firefighters at the scene from across the city as well as neighbouring Warwickshire and Birmingham. WMFS has said that, at 8am this morning, it expects that the scene will be scaled down. But there will remain two fire crews and a hydraulic aerial platform. "We expect to reduce our resources further down to two fire crews and a hydraulic aerial platform from around 8am." News about the fire operation comes as investigations into what police say was a suspected arson attack. Two teenage boys were arrested yesterday afternoon. We have asked West Midlands Police for an update on the pair. In the meantime, investigating officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.
