Woodhead Pass is shut to traffic due to a 'serious' crash this morning (Friday, May 2). The road is closed between the A616 and A6024 following the incident, which involves a motorbike. The closure was first reported at around 3.15am and is set to remain in place for several hours. "Emergency services including South Yorkshire Police are in attendance. National Highways contractors are also assisting with traffic management. "Due to the nature of the incident, the road is likely to be closed for some time. "A local diversion route is in place. Traffic travelling from further afield is advised to use alternative transpennine routes such as the A57 or M62." If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time.
