The Reds sealed the Premier League title with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur amid emotional scenes at Anfield. It takes Liverpool to 20 English titles, a joint record with bitter rivals Manchester United, and underlines their status as the most successful team in England. And with fans in the ground and able to celebrate Liverpool's first title in front of supporters for 35 years, it was a long-awaited and emotional triumph. James Noble (Worcestershire, @james_noble98) - This is just the beginning Wow. What a day Sunday was. Liverpool Football Club has blessed us with so many wonderful moments down the years. We’ll all have our favourites, but 27th April 2025 already has a special place in so many hearts. The Reds becoming Premier League champions at a full Anfield was a wonderful prospect and an even better experience. Before, during and after the match. The sights, the sounds, the feelings. The synergy. The performance. Tottenham Hotspur were poor, but the emphatic nature of Arne Slot’s side’s 5-1 comeback victory felt a fitting showcase of the ability and mentality that has propelled them to the club’s record-equalling 20th top-flight title. Alexis Mac Allister continues to display an invaluable capacity to catch and amplify the mood of a big game. Mohamed Salah’s selfie memorably highlighted the collective spirit. Virgil van Dijk’s call to wear red, meanwhile, was was strikingly acted upon. How great did Anfield look? Arne Slot chanting Jurgen Klopp’s name was a brilliant full-circle moment, too. What a triumph this is to build on in the coming months and years. Alongside the four remaining games, starting at Chelsea this Sunday, there is still the trophy lift and the parade to look forward to. One of the many great things about Sunday is that it can represent a beginning, as well as a continuation and a crescendo. Andrew Cullen (Widnes, @brothersred5) - True football love on show at Anfield It was a day where happiness boomed. It was a day where pride beamed. It was a day where tears poured, a day when joy flooded. At the close of the 2019/20 season, excitement fizzed to the brim, but it was contained. Pride and passion ballooned, but it was not released. This bottled energy burst with an explosion of unbridled joy on Sunday as Liverpool danced in delirious delight. The perfumes of joy and red mist pervaded the city. The child smiled, the parent chanted, and the grandparent danced. Flags were raised, songs were sung, and buildings were climbed. Klopp once said this means more; we showed the world what it means to be a Liverpool fan. I was lucky to be at the game on Sunday, to see the euphoria, to feel the ecstasy, and to hear the elation. I grew up watching those old clips of the Kop when the stand seemed to be bursting with passion and pride. This magic, this stardust was spread across Anfield on Sunday. Yes, it is so pleasing to get our hands on the biggest domestic trophy for the 20th time. Yes, it is so pleasing to be able to say to Man City, hand it over. But what I take most from the weekend were the moments of togetherness. Togetherness in celebration, in passion, and in joy. The players were the fans and the fans the players as the celebrations erupted. There was no division. That’s true football love. A day packed with highlights, from arriving to a sea of red by The King Harry to the ever growing and more powerful chorus of ‘champions’. Then there was the red balloons that cascaded down the Kenny and onto the pitch, Slot singing about Klopp, an array of vital players getting their deserved moment of glory, and coming out of the ground and seeing the masses of jubilant supporters on every rooftop around the ground. Such images had been building in my head in recent months, but it was everything I’d dreamt of and some and a day that will be hard to surpass. But long let this joyous Red carnival continue, starting with Chelsea away on Sunday and into May and the summer beyond that. What a time to be a Red.
