Wembley Incident: Man charged after altercation in Perth’s western suburbs

A 40-year-old man has been charged after committing a shocking and dangerous act against someone he knows. The incident occurred on Friday morning in Wembley when a man and a woman were seen in a heated argument near a pay phone. CCTV footage shows the man walking towards a white SUV before getting in the driver’s side. It’s alleged the man reversed a Holden Captiva SUV and hit the woman, causing her minor injuries. The woman was seen bleeding and staggering towards the passenger seat before getting in the car. The pair drove off down Gregory Street. According to police, she was treated by paramedics nearby the scene of the incident. Police said the man presented at the Perth Police Station not long after. The man will remain behind bars tonight and will appear in the Perth magistrates court on Saturday, May 3.
