The city received just over $1.7 million in OLG's fiscal year For hosting Gateway Casinos Sault Ste. Marie, the City of Sault Ste. Marie will receive a fourth quarter payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation of over $400,000. The payment, which totals $438,215, covers a stretch between Jan. 1 and March 31. During OLG's fiscal year (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025), the city has received a total of $1,780,887. The site opened locally in May 1999. Since that time, the city has received $37,067,506. The payments communities receive are based on a formula applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
