Micron's new structure comprises four distinct business units, each designed to address specific market segments:
- Cloud Memory Business Unit (CMBU): This unit focuses on delivering memory solutions tailored for large hyperscale cloud customers, as well as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) catering to all data center clients. Raj Narasimhan, who previously led the Compute and Networking Business Unit (CNBU), has been appointed as the leader of CMBU.
- Core Data Center Business Unit (CDBU): Dedicated to providing memory solutions for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) data center customers and comprehensive storage solutions for all data center needs, CDBU will be headed by Jeremy Werner, the former leader of the Storage Business Unit (SBU).
- Mobile and Client Business Unit (MCBU): Focused on creating memory and storage solutions for mobile devices and client segments, this unit will be led by Mark Montierth, who previously managed the Mobile Business Unit (MBU).
- Automotive and Embedded Business Unit (AEBU): This unit targets memory and storage solutions for the automotive, industrial, and consumer segments. Kris Baxter, who has overseen the Embedded Business Unit (EBU), will lead AEBU.
All four business units will report directly to Sumit Sadana, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer of Micron Technology.
